This created potential for a dramatic arrival experience, where the plaza experience would engage both nature and sport. A series of low walls are designed to extend across the plaza and into wildflower plantings. They provide casual seating and smaller group gathering space, and frame views to the wetlands. The permeable plaza paving system is attractive to patrons, and designed to withstand the twisting and turning movements of heavy service vehicles. The below grade storage is designed to filter storm water before slowly releasing it into the adjacent wetland.
