The team compiled market data, demographic information, spatial data, field observations, input from community members and stakeholders, and best practices from peer communities. Based on this research and extensive coordination with city leadership, HAA and GPG developed city-wide and place-specific recommendations that reflect Oak Park’s economic potential.
The plan is specific to the people and physical characteristics of the commercial study areas and the Oak Park community, and it offers a detailed and innovative approach to economic development. The final chapter on Implementation outlines the necessary key actions, task leaders, and anticipated time lines to serve as a useful tool for city leaders to turn strategies into real improvements.
