The Norma G redesign reimagined what a neighborhood gathering space could be. Blending cultural vibrancy with adaptive reuse we preserved parts of the community with new meaning."

The renovation included exterior upgrades such as new siding, paint, and signage, as well as a reimagined interior layout centered on hospitality and warmth. Key design elements preserved and reimagined the structure’s original footprint while incorporating vibrant Caribbean colors and textures that reflect the restaurant’s cultural roots. Operable windows and a large patio add to the welcoming environment, encouraging community gathering and outdoor dining.

Norma G’s is a symbol of neighborhood revitalization. Located in a historically underserved area, the project plays a catalytic role in the district’s economic and cultural growth. HAA’s thoughtful design helped secure approvals from the Historic District Commission while supporting the broader efforts of the Jefferson East Business Association to encourage local entrepreneurship and adaptive reuse.
