99 Union Street is a 2,300 SF building located adjacent to the MGM Springfield Casino campus. Asked to upgrade the facade of this one story cinder block facility, Hamilton Anderson Associates took cues from the Kringle Candle Emporium located across the street in the historic French Congregational Church.

The project incorporates carpentry, plumbing, metal shops, a parking and loading area and a dog kennel. The kennel is for MGM Springfield’s security dogs and follows extensive design guidelines developed to provide a comfortable and secure space for these intelligent and motivated dogs. A separate kennel is provided for each dog with access to indoor and outdoor space. Screening is provided between each kennel as well as adjacent properties.

HAA used our extensive knowledge of MGM support spaces to quickly layout shop areas and coordinate MEP services. HAA also provided presentation materials and participated in a special permit hearing before the Springfield City Council for kennel use. Hamilton Anderson Associates scope of work included both architectural and interior design services, as well as coordination with consultants.
