Joining the ranks of notable city landmarks, Detroit’s 17-story MGM Grand Detroit replaced the city’s temporary casino site, providing guests with contemporary gaming floor space, upscale entertainment venues, world-class accommodations and dining. HAA served as Architect of Record on the project. As AOR, our team managed over 20 local, national and international specialty consultants. The design philosophy for MGM Grand Detroit was to create timeless, elegant architecture that pays homage to Detroit’s substantial collection of 20th-century skyscrapers, while delivering on high expectations for the allure, anticipation and energy that define the contemporary entertainment experience. "

The project consists of a 400-room hotel, a full-service resort spa, upscale fashion and jewelry retail shops, five-star restaurants, a spectacular grand ballroom, conference center and an eight-story parking garage.

The design philosophy for MGM Grand Detroit was to create timeless, elegant architecture that pays homage to Detroit’s substantial collection of 20th-century skyscrapers while delivering on high expectations for the allure, anticipation and energy that define the contemporary entertainment experience.

Project plans, a joint venture with SmithGroup Architects, include full A/E, AOR and peer review services for the plan’s retail components. Additional project plans provide complete architectural and interior design services.
